Ohsweken Speedway Opens Early for One-of-a-Kind Fan Experiences in 2025

Uncommonly Grand

With one of the earliest starts in its 28 years, the race season at Ohsweken Speedway gets underway on Friday, May 9th – just ahead of the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars! Drivers were out in full force for Test & Tune on Friday, April 25th, and track media reported that the 3/8-mile oval clay surface “…is in better shape than ever.” What does that mean for fans? Bigger, better Friday Night Excitement in 2025!

The track excels at setting the stage for family-friendly dirt track entertainment each week of their action-packed season, where local and visiting race fans are welcomed annually for Friday night racing thrills from May to September. And, with the return of the World of Outlaws (WoOSC) series to the “Big O” on May 14th & 15th, they can prepare to witness “the greatest show on dirt”!

The four divisions on the weekly racing roster at the speedway include Thunder Stocks (TS,) 360 Sprints (360,) Crate Sprints (CS,) and Mini Stocks (MS.) 360s are off for opening night, when the Sportsman Modifieds take their place, but will make their official debut during the WoOSC special 2-day feature. The full 2025 race schedule is packed with events you won’t want to miss, leading up to the 4th running of the Northern Crate Sprint Nationals and the 21st running of the Northern Sprint Car Nationals to close out the season in September.

Over its nearly 3 decades of dirt track racing excitement, Ohsweken Speedway built its reputation as an anchor track in southern Ontario, becoming a one-of-a-kind driver and fan destination alike. From the original vision of owner and driver, Glenn Styres, it has grown to capacities greater than 8K, hosting special event divisions, a variety of series, and introducing a great mix of fan seating and new hospitality packages, including camping, pit admission, and driver meet-and-greets. In addition to its newly transformed concession and souvenir space, the track works tirelessly to bring their family-friendly fan base special events such as Halloween in June, Christmas in August, and the Six Nations Community Night, to name a few!

As a result, the fan experience is truly one-of-a-kind. From the free parking and tailgating with your own crew, to the front gate where the local staff make you feel welcome. Not to mention the Ohsweken Speedway Kids Club, where junior fans get VIP treatment ranging from free pre-race activities to pit tours and driver meet-and-greets! There’s nothing like seeing the friendly fan faces, enjoying a concession combo and the amazing summer sunsets off Turn 3 while watching the racing action. Top it off with the fireworks that follow, and you’ve got a next-level family night out! From the moment you arrive until saying the final goodnight to fellow fans, it’s an experience unlike any other.

The sport of dirt track racing itself has a history of making everyone feel welcome, and the track hosts, teams, and drivers never fail to extend that same kindness into the Six Nations community. Bicycle Night and Back to School Backpack Night are two shining examples of their efforts in partnership with sponsors and local businesses, giving free bikes and full backpacks to the young fan base in attendance with their families on these special nights. The Ohsweken Speedway brings family and friends together to watch “Friday Night Excitement” as fans of sport and dirt track racing in particular, and the experience they take away from it keeps them coming back for more!

Admission rates for 2025 regular weekly events are $20 for Adult Grandstand, $15 for Senior (65+) and Youth (13-17) tickets, and free entry for kids 12 and under.
